Tapi ternyata kali ini Dato Khairun benar benar akan bertanding sebagai Ketua Pemuda UMNO Bahagian Putrajaya disebabkan beliau masih lagi menaruh harapan untuk memegang jawatan Ketua Pemuda UMNO Malaysia.
Ada juga kedengaran khabar angin mengatakan bahawa Dato Khairun ingin menawarkan diri bertanding sebagai Ketua Pemuda UMNO Malaysia yang selama ini telah di sandang oleh YB Khairy sejak 2008 sehingga kini.
Adakah ini benar atau sekadar sendiwara politik UMNO Malaysia pada masa kini.
